After every attack carried out by a Muslim terrorist on American citizens, soldiers or establishment, why do the media rush to his neighbors and friends to ‘investigate his motives’ and learn about his personal life? Acquaintances predictably offer the same worn-out refrain: “We’re shocked..! He’s a very quiet and friendly person!”

Please! Do we really expect terrorists to raise banners announcing their intention to shoot down marines, or bomb city marathons, or fly airplanes into skyscrapers?

Of course they are quiet and friendly. They don’t want to be suspected of the crimes they intend to commit. And they surely don’t want us to realize the extent of their hatred for our country and our way of life.

Of course they are quiet and friendly, and so is the bomb they carry in their bag, until they open their mouths and shout “allahu akbar, allahu akbar…”, detonating that ‘quiet and friendly’ bomb!

However, what’s even more troubling than providing a soap box for these murders’ friends, is the frequently heard claims that such acts cannot be described as terrorism, and that further evidence is needed before such attacks can be described as such.

Well, if the identity these murders choose to project fails to provide the evidence to recognize this as a terrorist act, surely their cries of “allahu kabar” confirms their intent. Isn’t it time to know that this call is not a call for prayer, but rather a call for jihad and the killing of infidels?

Isn’t time for us to understand that the motive that drives these murderers is nothing but terrorizing us and forcing us to submit to their ideology, and ultimately to conquer us?

None of these terrorists is acting alone. Whether they are receiving direct orders from terrorist organizations or choosing to take action on their own, all of them are influenced by one ideology that instructs them to fight the infidels (kuffar), whatever their faith:

“..fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”  (Quran 9:5)

“Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, [that is Islam] out of those who have been given the Book, [Jews and Christians] until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and feel themselves subdued”. (Quran 9:29)

The reality is we are facing an army of terrorist groups, comprised of individuals, and all of them receive guidance from one source: Islamic ideology. It is about time to stop living in denial: we’re not at war with groups or individuals; we’re at war with an ideology that is threatening us, and all civil societies throughout the world.

Wake up America and smell the smoke!
